Running for President
Our President Richard Ennis will be taking part
in the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 18th October. This
year sees a new course for the half marathon which will start by “ThinkTank”,
and pass by the Bull Ring and Edgbaston Cricket ground before ending in
Broad Street.
When asked what time he hoped to achieve
Richard said:-
“It’s difficult to tell because it is a new
course compared to previous years. My half marathon PB is 1:52:54 and my PB for
Birmingham is 1:57:25 so I’d be happy with anything sub 2hrs.”
On this occasion Richard will be running in his
capacity as President of Wolverhampton Law Society.
“The Presidential “gong” is going to be making
the trip with me and I am dedicating the run this year to the memory of Peter
Horsley.”
Richard is aiming to raise funds for local
charities Action Heart and Beacon Centre for the Blind. You can make donations

Talking Parrott drops in for dinner
Feeling Peckish? Then book early for the
Wolverhampton Law Society Annual Dinner! This year’s event will be held on the
20th November and our guest speaker will be Snooker Legend John
Parrott MBE. One of Snooker’s greats John spent 14 consecutive years in
the top 16, eleven of them in the top 6 and was ranked world number two for 3
years. He is seventh on the all time list of ranking tournament winners being
one of only five players to hold both the World and UK championships in the
same calendar year.
Now a TV presenter and pundit John is also a patron of the Woodlands Hospice in Liverpool and the Kids Out charity which helps disadvantaged children.
He was awarded an MBE in 1996.
